Gao Yord — The Nine Peaks

Gao Yord is known as the “Yant Kru”, the master yant. In the Sak Yant tradition it is usually the first design a recipient receives, and it is regarded as the foundation on which every other yant rests.

Its nine rising peaks represent the nine summits of Mount Meru, the dwelling of the gods in Buddhist cosmology. Each peak carries its own khata; together they form a layer of protection around the wearer.

Traditionally believed to:

• Protect against sudden accidents and life-threatening danger
• Disperse negative energy and ill intent
• Serve as the base for any yant received afterwards

Because its protection is so broad, it remains the most common choice for a first Sak Yant.
